It’s amazing how much you can lose if you eat nonstop/2 instead of nonstop. The next pounds will be tougher of course.
I can make fun all I want, but my memory of watching the “Black or White” video premiere in 1991 after The Simpsons is fond. I was a huge dork in the 6th grade but seeing that video and talking about it with people the next day made me feel like less of an awkward outcast.

Me: These charges occurred about six weeks after my dad passed away. Debt collection agency for Dad’s estate: Plus, your dad lived in State X and the charges were in State Y. So we’re going to forward this to our fraud department. Yeah, because crossing state lines is a lot less likely than COMING BACK FROM THE DEAD TO BUY USED FURNITURE.

I read this awesome book in the summer between 5th and 6th grade.
I had no idea at the time that the author died before he finished the book, and that his wife and daughter completed the book from his notes.

I just found out a close friend’s ex/babydaddy died in a car accident tonight.
He was only 20.
I wish there was an “I’m so sorry to hear that” or “I’ll be thinking of you” icon to click instead of the like/heart icon. That has to be an awful, traumatic situation.
I listened to the song “Mack the Knife” in my car today. When I hear that song, I typically remember that my sixth grade class sang it as part of a musical performance.
It only occurred to me today that lyrics such as “On the sidewalk……Lies a body just oozing life” were probably not all that appropriate for 11 year olds.
4th of July Scrooge
Nine years ago, I spent the summer in DC. I saw some mighty nice fireworks on the Capitol lawn on the 4th of July. I sat so close to Ray Charles singing America the Beautiful that I’m pretty sure he saw me.
